  THAMEL – Jérôme Mardaga Ambient Modular Music
  
  I have been lucky to make music my living since 1997. Mainly with the electric guitar and production skills. Also teaching the guitar in different music schools over the years. Transmission and learning process is really important to my eyes.
  
  Tons of different projects , from Shoegaze to French songs, from Dark Western Post-Roots to modular. Lots of records composed, produced and released.
  
  So my guitar, my songs and other artist’s songs took on the road and in the studios ever since.
  
  I have played all over Europe but also Canada, the States and China with various acts.
  One the highlights were the wonderful two years spent with RIDE’s singer Mark Gardener ( Oxford UK) . We became close friends and toured for two years in Europe. Playing RIDE material on stage along side Mark was truly amazing. Time spent in Oxford UK was full of great meetings as well.
  
  Recently I made friends with wonderful people in Denver, Colorado. Going there for recording an album under the supervision of Slim Cessna and Dwight Pentacost from Slim Cessna Auto Club and Denver Bronco UK. I made friend with very cool people from the alternative music scene in Denver such as the dudes from Wovenhand, Sixteen Horse Power, Kyle Emerson, ...
  
  Back from a three weeks exhausting tour in China in 2015, I took the ambient path.I was standing on a street of Beijing, waiting for a cab, and I heard an beautiful slow pulsating sound in the distance. Elusive, soft and melodic. From that very moment, I knew I was into Ambient Music again.
  
  Listening to Alessandro Cortini, Caterina Barbieri, R Beny, Rafael Anton Irisarri, well, they’re fantastic teachers.
  
  Thamel, my ambient project, has two album albums already released : « Duna » 2017 and « Prairie Blanche » 2019. The third one « 612 » is scheduled for the fall of this year and being mastered at this point.
  
  I started Thamel using mostly hardware synthesizers but I took the modular path quite fast. And never to return. My favorite synth are the Buchla music easel and the Make Noise Shared System.
  
  I have been lucky to play on Modular World show curated by Johno Wells (San Diego, USA).
  
  A track is featured on the Ambient Modular Compilation 4. And I’ll have the great pleasure to play a show for Modular Seattle in October 2020.
  
  « Duna » is to be re-released on cassette in Japan on Xtra Sensory Perception of Accuracy Label curated by Philo Krynx.
  Always keep busy. Learn, experiment, travel. It’s my only way to go.
